Website Revamp Kit / Free sample

A closer look at
a clearer website.

The complete example: original and revised copy for two pages, the thinking behind each change, and a practical implementation checklist.

The starting point

Fern & Field Therapy

For this demonstration, the practice supplies the following fictional facts. The rewrite uses these facts instead of inventing new services or outcomes.

Fictional practice brief
AudienceAdults navigating work stress or life changes
FormatOnline sessions for adults located in Oregon
Session fee$150 for a 50-minute session; self-pay
First stepA free, 15-minute phone consultation
Response timeWithin two business days

A real kit would need the practice owner to confirm their details, professional identity, service locations, fees, and contact process before publication. This sample demonstrates copy and layout; it does not verify clinical, legal, privacy, or accessibility compliance.

When work feels all-consuming or life is changing, it can be hard to make room for yourself. Fern & Field offers individual therapy for adults navigating work stress and life transitions.

You don't need to have it all figured out.

You might be finding it difficult to switch off after work, adjusting to a new chapter, or unsure how to describe what feels different. These are things we can make space to talk about.

Meet online, from a private place.

Sessions take place online and last 50 minutes. This practice works with adults who are physically located in Oregon at the time of their appointment.

Know the cost before you get in touch.

Individual sessions are $150. This is a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance. You can ask about the fee and payment process during a free consultation.

Start with a conversation.

A free, 15-minute phone consultation is a chance to ask questions, hear how sessions work, and discuss whether this practice may be a fit. There's no obligation to book a session. Expect a reply to your request within two business days.

A few details are enough.

Use the practice's secure inquiry form to share your first name, contact email, and whether you are currently located in Oregon. Please keep your message brief and leave out medical history or other sensitive details.

What happens next

Expect an email reply within two business days with next steps for arranging a call. The consultation is free, and you do not need to commit to a therapy session.

Before you book

Therapy sessions are online, 50 minutes, and $150 per session. This is a self-pay practice for adults located in Oregon; insurance is not billed.

For appointment inquiries only

This form is not monitored continuously and cannot provide urgent support. If you need immediate assistance, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service in your area.

The thinking

Every change has a reason.

A suggested priority order. These are editorial decisions, not measured conversion results.

01 / Say who the practice is for.

Before: “Your journey to wellness” could describe almost any practice.

After: The opening names the audience, service, and location immediately.

02 / Make practical details easy to find.

Before: Visitors have to contact the practice to learn the basics.

After: Format, fee, session length, and payment terms appear on the page.

03 / Give the button a specific purpose.

Before: “Learn more” and “Submit” don't explain the next step.

After: “Request a free consultation” explains what the visitor is asking for.

04 / Explain what happens after contact.

Before: “As soon as possible” leaves the timing open-ended.

After: The contact page describes the call and gives a defined response time.

05 / Keep the initial inquiry simple.

Before: An open request to share a therapy history invites unnecessary detail.

After: The page asks for basic contact information and directs visitors away from sharing sensitive details.

The next steps

From draft to your website.

Apply the changes in your existing website builder. Check each item as you go; checkbox selections are not saved when you close the guide.

  1. Confirm the facts first

Replace every fictional detail with your own: practice name, intended clients, services, permitted service locations, fee, insurance policy, consultation offer, and response time. Include your verified professional name and credentials where appropriate. Only use statements that accurately describe your practice. If you do not offer free consultations, change both the copy and button label.

  2. Make a draft of your existing pages

Save a copy of the current homepage and contact page before editing. Use your website builder's draft or duplicate-page feature, or copy the current text into a document. Keep the existing page addresses and menu links. Work on the drafts until you are ready to publish.

  3. Put the homepage in a clear order

Start with the audience and location line, one main heading, the introductory paragraph, and the consultation button. Follow with the audience section, session format, fees, and what happens next. Use one H1 for the page title and H2s for section titles. Keep text in short paragraphs and use readable contrast and spacing.

  4. Connect the contact page

Add the contact-page copy around your existing, appropriately configured secure inquiry or booking service. Link every consultation button to that same destination. Match the form fields to the copy, explain how you use contact details in your own privacy notice, and confirm the actual response process. The kit supplies wording and placement; it does not create a secure form or booking system.

  5. Review on a phone and with a keyboard

Preview both pages at a narrow mobile width and at desktop size. Check that headings wrap naturally, text is readable, and nothing runs off-screen. Tab through links and the contact form, checking that focus stays visible. Have a second person read the copy for accuracy and clarity before publishing.

  6. Publish and test the real path

Publish the reviewed pages. Open the public site in a fresh browser, follow the consultation link, and send one test inquiry using non-sensitive test information. Confirm that it reaches the correct inbox and that the visitor receives the intended next step. Keep a copy of the final text and review it whenever services, prices, or availability change.

The page order at a glance

Homepage: audience + location → main heading + short introduction → consultation link → who it is for → session format → fee → next steps + consultation link.

Contact page: consultation heading + introduction → essential contact fields in your existing secure service → response expectations → session details → urgent-support notice.

Using this sample

Make it your own.

You may adapt this sample copy and checklist for your own practice website. Replace all fictional details with accurate information and review the finished pages before publishing. The sample does not include a website theme, secure form, booking system, clinical or legal review, or a promise of new clients. It is not an endorsement of a real practitioner. Please do not resell the sample as a standalone product.
